We have the Premiere of the VELVET UNDERGROUND New York Extravanganza exhibition earlier on @ Philharmonie.

The good news from 2015 and 2016 was that The Last Shadow Puppets was together again in fact Miles Kane & Alex Turner. They were touring together a few years ago as Miles opened for the Arctic Monkeys. They even reformed temporarily at some shows for a song including here @ Olympia theatre.
Tonight's show has been sold-out for a long time.
Jeff Wootton is opening but as we were at the Velvet Underground-New York Extravanganza @ Philharmonie we arrived too late to see him.

The Olympia is packed and all the girls are very excited, we were lucky to see the band performed yesterday night for an hour at the Album de la Semaine tv show in front of less than 150 people so we know what to expect.
The musicians behind the duet is from Mini-Mansions and we have 4 girls on violin.
The band has only two records out , the new one to be release next week, so they are playing many new songs from the new album - most of them with a slow tempo- and of course songs from the first record which are welcomed with excitement, they are the favourites.
Miles is smiling ( as usual) and playing so neat guitar parts, Alex is playing the crooner which is really annoying, what a fuckin' poser. so ridiculous.
The band is playing an excellent show but there's something missing to make it one or our favourites from this year.

Grosse attente pour ce concert qui a affiché complet presque instantanément. Leur second album n'est toujours pas sorti à ce jour donc nous allons avoir la primeur de pas mal de nouveaux titres, comme hier soir lors de l'enregistrement de l'Album de La Semaine, heureusement le groupe n'oublie pas le premier disque -qui les a fait connaitre- et ses titres somptueux; le public chaud-bouillant ne s'y trompe pas, faisant une ovation à chacun d'eux et reprenant en chœur toutes les paroles. C'est beau à entendre.
Les nouveaux titres sont un peu trop lents et cassent un peu le rythme.
Miles est toujours aussi souriant et cabotin,  Alex toujours aussi horripilant avec ses poses de crooner, c'est d'un ridicule.
Un très bon concert dans l'ensemble mais il manquait un petit quelque chose pour en faire un des meilleurs de l'année.

The band is Touring Europe before the new album 'Everything You've Come To Expect' is out in the stores ( release date April 1st) 

Tonight, and after a few shows in England, the band is stopping for a private tv show , playing songs from the new album.

150 capacity, so I guess it will be their smallest gig on this tour.

Tomorrow's concert @ Olympia is sold out, like most of all the shows. 

 8:35  PM to 9:15 PM + 2 songs for the encore ""Miracle Alinger" & "Meeting Place"

11 songs played tonight all new songs but "Meeting Place"
Apart for the rockier "bad habits", which opened the set tonight, all the other songs are very slow.
Miles dressed in black, always with a smile on his face; Alex with a white jogger, still playing the crooner but not over-playing it ( a fuckin' miracle) as he's getting very annoying in this role... but not tonight.
Hard to judge as I was hearing most of the songs for the first time but still a great set
looking forward seeing them tomorrow @ the sold-out Olympia theatre if we can get a ticket for the show.

En plein milieu de leur tournée Européenne et un jour avant leur concert complet à l'Olympia les Last Shadow Puppets prennent le temps de donner un concert quasi-privé et devant à peine plus de 150 personnes dans les locaux de Canal+ pour l’émission L'Album de la Semaine.Accompagnés de 4 violonistes et des membres des Mini- Mansions, des copains de Josh Homme, à la basse- batterie et claviers, notre duo d'Anglais Alex Turner et Miles Kane vont nous interpréter 11 titres, tous -sauf un- tirés de leur nouvel album à paraître le 01 Avril. "Bad habits" ouvre les hostilités, c'est leur titre le plus rock de l'album, les autres étant plus atmosphériques avec pour la plupart un tempo assez lent principalement à la guitare acoustique et avec quelques subtiles parties électriques. Miles toujours aussi souriant et Alex -tout de blanc vêtu- un peu moins horripilant qu'à l'habitude avec ses poses de crooner américain.
Une excellente prestation de près d'une heure dommage que l'on ne connaissait que les 3 titres déjà sorti en single sur la dizaine joués ce soir. Heureusement le groupe termine sur "Meeting Place issu du premier album.

Une légende du reggae ce soir en concert

il fête ses 80 ans

Une légende à Paris pour fêter ses 80 ans
Première partie superbement assurée par I Kong dans un registre reggae assez traditionnel comparé à ce qui va suivre.

80 ans aujourd'hui Lee Scratch Perry -bon pied Bon oeil- à peine arrivé sur scène Monsieur s'allume un joint, accompagné par des musiciens Français, et c'est parti pour près de 2 heures de musique assez barrée.

On ne peut pas dire que ce soit un grand chanteur il déclame ou psalmodie ses textes plus qu'il ne les chante tout en arpentant la scène continuellement de droite à gauche et en agitant un bouquet de fleurs ou son chapeau de temps en temps.
Les titres s’enchaînent, le maître suit la setlist posée devant lui à la lettre, même s'il n'hésite pas à  s'arrêter net lorsqu'il ne "sent" pas un titre pour interpréter le suivant et toujours avec un joint à la main.
Lee a beau avoir 80 ans aujourd'hui , il ne perd pas le nord,  repérant la plus belle fille de la salle - pas compliqué elle est au premier rang- il n'hésite pas à la faire monter sur scène plusieurs fois avant de lui demander de se mettre sur le coté , vraisemblablement pour l'emmener dans les loges après le concert, ce qu’elle ne fera pas, elle est accompagnée.
Le concert se terminera par de beaux chants d'anniversaire et un gros gâteau.
Très belle soirée
