The Ting Tings @ Caroussel du Louvre for Deezer, Paris Dec 08 2011

The Tings Tings' private show @ Caroussel du Louvre, Paris, Dec 08 2011
For Deezer worldwide launch with Facebook & Orange
Some Girls & Big Oils are out in force including French Minister for culture

LeWeb11 is organizing 2-3 days of conferences about the Internet and they had the good idea to have a huge party with The Ting Tings to celebrate the worldwide launch of French streaming Cie Deezer in collaboration with Big Brother's FaceFuck & Orange.

Lots of sexy girls in the audience, it's always a pleasure, and lots of free booze at the bars.
It's the first time we're attending a Ting Tings' gig and we only know a couple of songs that were played on radio from their first album.
No preconceived mind about this English duet...well maybe about their clothes !!!
Anyway, even though there are only the two of them on stage, it's sounding good, they do have some pre-recorded stuff but not that much.
The girl is doing the show running everywhere, including a small trip into the audience and headbanging like a Metallica fan during "Seek & Destroy".
The guy is playing Drums, some guitars and Keys and the chick is playing guitars and keys and singing of course.
They do have some cool songs that are rocking with a pop/dance beat and feeling.
I'm not too convinced with the more electro tunes, luckily most of the songs are rocking.
I'm not too familiar with the repertoire but out of 9 songs they've probably performed 5-6 new songs.
Nice 45 min set.

Smith & Burrows @ Fleche d'Or, Paris Dec 07 2011

Smith & Burrows @ Fleche d'Or, Paris Dec 07 2011
Far from being full tonight when we get @ Fleche d'Or after coming from The Horrors @ Bataclan.
First Aid Kit & Liz Green had already played their set
beautiful setting for the stage with Trees, fairy lights ...
No drummer tonigth just a guy on trumpet in the back, a cello played, a keyboard played and the singer of The Editors (also on piano and guitar) and the former drummer from Razorlight who's on vocals, guitar and piano.
Lots of covers from different bands ( Black , REM and others...) plus some christmas songs.
it's a very laid-back and relaxed concert, It's like seeing friends playing songs in your apartment for a kids party.
There was even a raffle to get some merchandising and a bottle of wine before the encore.

setlist
I didn't know what to expect as I was invited by friends when I was leaving the Bataclan , where The Horrors had just played, I'm glad I attended as They've done a great set.

reminder:
Razorlight @ Fleche d'Or Feb 2011, @ Bataclan in 2008
The Editors @ Olympia 2010, @ Bataclan 2009

The Horrors @ Bataclan, Paris dec 07 2011

The Horrors @ Bataclan, Paris dec 07 2011

We're getting into the Bataclan just as The Horrors are getting on stage, the pit is packed but there are seats left on the balcony upstairs.
As usual with The Horrors the lightning is "atmospheric", we already saw them @ Rock en Seine festival and we enjoyed it.
Tonight we're less convinced by their psyche-rock heavily influenced by Joy Division. Songs are sounding too much the same.
Good show nevertheless but it could have been better. Short set 65 min

setlist:( same every night on this tour)
  1. Changing The Rain
  2. Who Can Say
  3. I Can See Through You
  4. Scarlet Fields
  5. Dive In
  6. Endless Blue
  7. Sea Within A Sea
  8. Still Life

9.Mirror's Image
10.Three Decades
11.Moving Further Away

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds @ Casino de Paris, Dec 06 2011

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds @ Casino de Paris, Dec 06 2011
& Electric Soft Parade
Electric Soft Parade
When we get in the support band was already on stage, part of the audience wanted them out, they took it with a laugh; too bad they've done a great set ending with a smashing ten minutes song. I've been told later that it was Electric Soft Parade, I remember now that i probably saw them many years ago opening for another band ( may be Oasis) at the Royal albert Hall.
They really deserve more success.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds

This gig has been sold-out almost immediately when it went on sale, I understand why, it's full of English singing No-el for the whole set.
The band has a powerful sound and a great white light show.
The whole gig is being recorded by French tv Canal+ for a future broadcast, they've already did it last time Oasis played at the tiny Bataclan theatre in Nov 2008.
We haven't heard the record yet but we heard the single and it is sounding very good.
so it's no surprise that Noel's band is sounding much better than Oasis, probably because he's singing all the songs.
Needless to tell you that we're not Oasis fans over here.
Noel is alternating between acoustic & electric guitar, he's not a fantastic guitar player but he has very good songs including the Oasis ones which are sounding ten times better when he's singing them.
A few heavy tunes and some acoustic moments including acoustic versions of "Wonderwall", "Supersonic"...
He had a few requests but he preferred to stick to the setlist, he also had a few funny chats with some English members of the audience.
SETLIST:
  1. (It's Good) To Be Free
  2. Mucky Fingers
  3. Everybody's on the Run
  4. Dream On
  5. If I Had a Gun...
  6. The Good Rebel
  7. The Death of You and Me
  8. Freaky Teeth
  9. Wonderwall
  10. Supersonic
  11. (I Wanna Live in a Dream in My) Record Machine
  12. AKA... What a Life!
  13. Talk Tonight
  14. Soldier boys...
  15. Broken arrowLien
  16. Half the world away
  17. (Stranded on ) the wrong beach
  18. -------Encore-------
  19. Little by Little
  20. The Importance of being idle
  21. don't look back in anger
Overall very good show even though he could do better than this.

"Get Back":

Review with Pics, setlist & many videos: Paul McCartney @ Paris Bercy on Nov 30 (Part 2)

Question: OU VA LE POGNON ? Pas dans la poche des artistes.

Quand je pense qu'on nous a fait passer Steve Jobs pour un saint, Pourris en enfer charogne !

Liz Green @ Fnac ternes, Paris Dec 06 2011, 6pm

Very cool 5-6 songs acoustic set from this English folk artist, too bad there wasn't a lot of people even though there was a few posters in the store promoting this showcase.

She's playing tomorrow ( Dec 07) with other bands @ Fleche d'Or in Paris
