The Dynamites feat. Charles walker @ L' Album de la semaine Oct 6th 2009

The Dynamites featuring Charles Walker @
L' Album dela Semaine Canal+
Paris Oct 6th 2009

A little bit of Soul/Funk can't do ya no harm.
That's what we had tonight: a cocktail of Funk à la James Brown for the up-tempo songs and Soul music à la Sam Cook/ Sam Moore for the quiter songs.
Charles Walker was already doing gigs opening for the likes of James Brown, Etta James & "Wicked" Pickett in the 60's.
He never made just because he was great when the others were Fantastic hope this will be corrected now as the songs are groovy and soulfull and he may not dance like Mr Brown but the guy knows how to sing.

Peaches will play the Album de la semaine next week on the 12th
and on Oct 27th be ready for a famous noisy american band.

Yoko Ono & Sean Lennon Paris Oct 6th

Yoko Ono & Sean Lennon in Paris Oct 6th 2009

Yoko, Sean & Friends / Yoko signing a cd to a fan ( right )

After leaving CHANEL fashion collection show , we went to the nearby Ritz hotel for a business meeting.
And after leaving a restaurant we saw people waiting for someone and it was Yoko Ono + Sean Lennon & Girlfriend.
Sean was surprised to see us again as we were at his show @ Point Ephémere ( click for review ) , we met him backstage yesterday night @ Peter Doherty's show @ Zénith ( click for review & Pics & Videos ) AND this morning @ CHANEL ( click for Pics ).

We had a chat with him ( Yoko was... Yoko ) once again.
While we were there talking we saw Models Eva Herzigova , Claudia Schiffer and the one and only Alain Delon.
Whitney Houston
is also staying @ Ritz hotel.

Sean is leaving soon for Iceland for his birthday ( Oct 9th )
Paul went to see Yoko & Sean yesterday after his daughter's show.

Once again wake up call waaaayyy tooo early this morning but that was for a good cause as we were going to the hotest fashion show of the week : CHANEL

Karl Lagerfeld is always putting on a great show , this time we felt like being in the countryside even the smell was like being in a cowshed

PRINCE was there, yes Mr Love Symbol himself unfortunately we couldn't get near him at all as he arrived at the last minute and left straight after. Too bad...

Lily Allen live @ CHANEL
Lily Allen "played" one song at the end of the show.

The Fuhrer himself , Rihanna on the left of pic

Nice way to start the day but we left pretty fast as we had a meeting next to the Ritz hotel.

Rehearsals with the band without Pete
In an empty Zénith

We went to the Zénith very early saw the guys in the band and could see the soundcheck from the stage infront of an empty Zénith.
They've played 4 instrumental version from Peter's solo record

Here's a video from the soundcheck ( courtesy of Mathilde ):
More videos from the gig including Peter's performance @ Mathilde's

Time tables & Merch
This gig wasn't commercially a success as it was a small Zénith ( 2500 capacity ) and it was far from being full and the guestlist was as long as the Eiffel Tower.
Where are all his fans ?
Lots of young girls as always.

Green Day
@ Paris Bercy
Oct 4th 2009

Green day's audience is no older than this ( left )
Billy with cuddly toy ( right )

Back to Bercy tonight after seeing the rehearsals this afternoon.
FFFFFFUUUCCCKKKK !!!!
One more time and for the 3rd time this year , I 've missed the beginning of the show , first time was @ L' album de la semaine for Canal+ on May 11th ( click to see review , pics & video ) then @ Trabendo on May 12th ( click to see review setlist and Pics ) and now it's Bercy.
How come ? Their audience is so young that they have to be home by 11 PM so they're playing early shows.
I've never EVER seen the Headliner starting its show at 8 PM in Bercy.
Anyway , Bercy was SOLD-OUT a long time ago , the place is packed with teenagers mostly females.
Great atmosphere of course, lots of singing and "oohhéé OOhhoo".
The trick of the night : have the kids singing " OohhOoéé OOhhOoo" every 2 minutes.
Hey guys you're beating these cunts from U2 with all these "OhhOOo ".

aT LEAST THERE WAS ONE pUNK ON STAGE TONIGHT ! ( right )

Billy is a real entertainer , the little guy is doing the show on his own , running everywhere for two hours.
He had many kids on the stage, some of them sung a bit others half a song, that's the nice part when you're going to a Green Day gig , you're ending up on stage with your idol , COOL.
They have some great tunes , some lame too but it's never dull, always entertaining for the kids ... because if you're a bit older it's FUCKING Disneyland !!!

The stage set up is cool with the backdrop and the screens , lots of pyros and flames all along the show but ...
Where's the PUNK in this ?

Billy is the main attraction it's not really Green Day anymore but more Billy & Co
Don't know why they ended the show with an acoustic song ???
