Carmen Maria Vega + Liz Green + Liza Manili @ Hotel de Ville for Paris Plage, July 22 2012

Carmen Maria Vega + Liz Green + Liza Manili @ Hotel de Ville for Paris Plage, July 22 2012

Last day for this free festival in front of the Hotel de Ville in Paris, once again it's sunny & warm with the sun shining like never before for July 2012.

First is Liza Manili, nice pop-rock set à la Blondie
Folk artist Liz Green with little folk songs, not the best for an outdoor festival in daylight, a bit boring

Carmen Maria Vega, she's now playing some rock tunes singing in french with some funny & sarcastic lyrics, she's acting on stage like the typical "Parisian lad"
Cool set.

Marathon Photo Fnac, Paris July 21 2012
+ Rover & Dominic A rehearsals

Rover & Dominic A

"Marathon Photo Fnac 2012" in Paris, They give you 1 subject every two hours and you have, with your team mate, to take two pictures for each subject.
Nice way to get busy on a saturday sunny afternoon in July

"La nature dans la ville"

"L'envers du décors"
"La Parisienne"

We did it last year and were very conceptual but the jury chose "postal cards" so we tried to get "down to earth" for this one.
As we were from time to time at the Hotel de Ville during the afternoon , we saw some of the rehearsals (Rover & Dominic A") for the night show. Too tired to go after walking the streets of Paris for a few hours.

Mina Tindle + La Grand Sophie @ Hotel de Ville for Paris Plage, Paris july 20 2012 6:30pm
Short set (25 min) by Mina Tindle & friends
Indie Pop tunes with a bit of electronica, nice even though there's no real hit single , it's more "ambiant".
La Grande Sophie

We only stayed for the first 3 songs, nice pop-rock but nothing special

Charlie Winston @ Hotel de Ville for Paris Plage, July 19 2012

Charlie Winston @ Hotel de Ville for Paris Plage, July 19 2012 9:30pm

Free gig at the Hotel de Ville for the Paris Plage festivities, it's packed with a few thousands people, lots of late teenage girls, most of them smoking & drinking alcool in a friendly atmosphere.
There were a few artist before, we only came came for Charlie Winston.
He's playing acoustic & electric guitar, a couple of songs on piano and one on bass.
He gave out a few of his (trademark) hats to the audience and had them clapping and singing to his hits.
The music he's playing is not Top but hes' a good showman and the show was enjoyable.

Paul Personne + The Aerial @ Mairie du 3e, Paris July 11 2012

Paul Personne + The Aerial @ Mairie du 3e, Paris July 11 2012; 8:00 pm
Festival Soir d'Eté à Paris

The Aerial
Free outdoor gig in front of the 3rd district Town Hall in Paris for the Festival Soir d'Eté à Paris, tonight this is a Blues -Rock orientated night with Great french Blues Guitar-Hero Paul Personne.
For people staying in the French capital, there are lots of free activities organized by the city of Paris, free gigs (including the Paris plage fest at the Hotel de Ville this July), you can also watch movies on huge screens in parks and so on...

Before Paul Personne we have Franco-English Electro-Pop band The Aerial, I'm just wondering what they are doing opening for Paul, not really our cup of Tea. The funny part was when they went into the audience to play an acoustic song otherwise... Funny how the singer has Robert Plant poses too.
The show is broadcasted live on OUIFM radio so each band is playing on time.
9:15 pm and DJ Dom Kiris is introducing Paul Personne to a packed street, This festival is situated in the street between the Town Hall and a Park.
It's starting badly with two uninspired blues-rock tunes then things are getting much better with better songs and some great guitar playing.
Lots of guitar solos and stretched out songs, Thank god, we have our French Allman Bros band but with only two guitar players and it's sounding amazing.
Great 75 min performance.

Reminder: Paul Personne @ OUIFM radio Nov 16 2011
