After seeing Folk Lady Laura Gibson and hillbilly rockers The Hillbilly Moon Explosion playing their set( scroll down for review, Pics & video), It's 11PM and time for another different kind of Music with indie-folk-rock band Port O'Brien à la Fleche d'Or.

Before the storm

They look like a college radio band , are acting on stage as if they were playing in Nirvana but they don't play a heavy music.
A mix between folk and indie rock.

Funny they have a tiny sound specially the drums, the guy is banging on it like Dave Grohl but he has a really tiny sound. same with the guitar player.

Lots of girls in the audience as usual in this club and Port O'Brien has lots of fans as they know all the lyrics.
They have some really catchy songs and the atmosphere is lively down the pit.

The band asked to have everybody on stage for the last song ( as you can see on Pics).
very good 80 min+ set.

Girls wanna have fun !

Laura Gibson

First on stage is Folk Lady Laura Gibson who already played an Oliver Peel session a few months ago, unfortunately I couldn't attend this one as Charlotte Gainsbourg was playing @ Canal+ on the same night. Laura also opened for Carl Barat & Adam Green @ Pompidou Center (click for review).I arrived there too late to see her.

Anyway she played a nice set of soft songs as only Folk ladies can play.

Hillbilly Moon Explosion

Very different music on the program for the set band to grace the stage of La Fleche d' Or on this tuesday night with The Hillbilly Moon Explosion.
As you can guess and see on the Pics they're playing Hillbilly music.
Very refreshing set, It's been a long time since I've seen playing a rockabilly band.
Always cool to see a girl on vocals for that kind of band it adds something extra and sexy.

Country and rock influences for the Hillbilly Moon Explosion, a little brother of the Stray Cats ( click to see our review of their last show in Paris ) also featuring nice guitar solo à la Django Reinhart.

PRINCE is back in France

Prince @ Grand Palais in Paris Oct 2009

He will play the Citadelle in Arras for the Main Square Fest on July 9th with support bands Mint Condition & Larry Graham.

Tickets between 85 and 125 Euros, Box Office will open on April 27th.

He will also play the Roskilde Festival (DENMARK ;-) on July 4th and Werchter (Belgium) on July 10th.
