One Shot Not TV recording with Air, Hindi Zahra, Richard Bona, Rickie Lee Jones, PSP Full setlist & Simon Phillips' drumstick
Back to the 15e distric in Paris for the second day of the recording of Arte tv show One Shot Not. Yesterday I didn't really know any of the artists , I spent a nice evening (between 8:30 & 11:00 Pm ) but nothing was fantastic. Tonight is a bit different: Air played songs from his last cd , Hindi Zahra did a couple , she's a bit like Ayo but with more depth, Bass player extraordinaire Richard Bona did a couple too and Hindi Zahra came back to sing a Bob Marley cover with him. Rickie Lee Jones did two songs with Pino Palladino ( The Who ) on bass and Manu Katche on drums. Last were PSPfor Simon Phillips, Pino Palladino & Phillipe Saisse on keyboards for two instrumentals jazz fusion songs, the audience asked for more so they came back for another one.
Nice evening for this one , not really rock but very enjoyable
MUSE is back in Paris after playing the tiny Théatre du Chatelet in Paris on Sept 8th ( click to see our GREAT pics from this show and a video ). Only one Bercy Guys !!! You know it was SOLD OUT aaaagges ago, tickets are exchanging outside for more than a 100 Euros. We get there too late to see support band Biffy Clyro, sorry.
Muse always has a massive production , so it is tonight. 3 huge screen-columns , the band is playing the first song on this platform, 5 meters high above the ground. They will get back on it a few times all along the show. They also have a huge sound , I really wonder how they managed to do that with only one guitar (and a poor sod hidden on stage on the keyboards with no lights on, he's not even introduced to the audience ). Really sad that there are lots of empty seats behind the stage ( there are people there ) they could have sold a few hundreds more on the day.
Of course they've played all the hits which get an enormous response from the fans mostly teenage girls.
Setlist: Uprising Resistance New Born Map Of The Problematique Supermassive Black Hole MK Ultra Hysteria United State Of Eurasia Cave Guiding Lights Undisclosed Desires Starlight Plug In Baby Time Is Running Out Unnatural Selection --- Exogenesis Part I : Overture Stockholm Syndrome Knights Of Cydonia
They have lots of epic 5 min+ songs with lots of very heavy guitar licks. On a couple of songs they could be sued for copyright infringement by Depeche Mode but that's Ok as they are much more rock.
Mat is on top form but they should communicate more with the audience. They put on a great show, we know where the money is going to... their stage production.
Then it's time to get backstage the French record Cie is giving away free drugs to everybody ... NOT.
What is that ?
MUSE has never been so popular in France and the market might be collapsing but they've received a double platinum record.
HERE ARE THE EXCLUSIVE PICS :
CONGRATULATIONS GUYS
Ze Boss is smiling...
And so are the Slaves !
PS: Patrice Guino , our photographer would like to thank the guys for inviting him at the A/S party.LOL
Back to the Hot & Sweaty Bataclan for Gossip's second SOLD-OUT show here. Once again we have to endure the shitty support band Ssion , the music is unbearable. Two of the Gossip ( Hannah and the bass player ) are enjoying them from the balcony.
Roadies are paid for this ! It's a hard job.
Gossip did a very nice ( short ) set yesterday same for today , Beth is on top form , the audience is hot all along the gig. They may have change the setlist tonight ( not sure about it ). Still communicating a lot with the froggies IN FRENCH . giving away the mic to a couple of french girls of the first row who sang a french song ( "les Champs Elysées" by Joe Dassin)
She went into the pit once again at the end to sing from the bar. Just another GREAT gig should I say .
