A "Circuit 24" for artist & Music lovers

Pre-opening of the Palais de Tokyo after being closed for refurbishment, it has now triple its initial size.

Opened 30 hours non-stop.

The only good thing we saw was that huge Grand Prix racing track for kids made out of thousands of old vinyls and you could actually drive the car, with a camera, in front of a screen.

That was cool

The rest was mostly crap and certainly not up to the level of the Palais de Tokyo.

• Small "figurines" made out of small plastic objects and trash : OK
• Some small drawings and texts written on notebooks & porn mags (pic below), the kind of things you do in class when the Maths lesson is boring you to death: crap
• there was a "dismembered" car: The metalwork with all the seats, wheels, lights... put around it (not pictured here), I'm pretty sure that workers repairing cars in a garage didn't know they were doing art: complete crap
• A huddle of wood : we thought it was the place where workers put all the trash away in fact it was ART: shit

I mean who the fuck do they think we are
Can they call "ART" any shit
It looks like the answer is "YES @ Palais de Tokyo

After seeing him at the Agnes B store for a signing session Kim Fowley is playing tonight in a church situated in the heart of Paris next to the Pompidou Center.
It's a bit of a mess in front of the church as there are lots of people and only one small door to get in. They also have to check the name of each punter on a list as they don't have a scanner for advance tickets.

The show's running late so it's giving us the time to have a chat with a few friends, we don't know what to expect as the "show" is advertised as a "Evening with The Animal Man" in fact it's a proper rock concert with a French band that has been put together the night before at a restaurant.
As you can see on the setlist below it's mostly covers, as it's their first show together the band is not very tight but it's fun.
Kim is acting more like a MC than a real singer but I have my doubt about the girl who's "singing" with him, she's hot but can't really call her a singer.
Lots of funny and salacious lyrics on some songs and there's a screen behind playing some of Kim's movies with sexy girls.
That was entertaining.

Kim Fowley & Snow Mercy

American record producer, impresario, publisher, songwriter, musician, film maker, talent scout... Kim Fowley is in Paris to play a show @ Eglise St Merry but before that he's at Agnes B store for a signing session with his missus the sexy Snow Mercy.

He did an interview for German-French tv Arte and the whole signing session was recorded as well as the photo session outside the store for the "Tracks" tv show.
The guy's a real character and actor and knows how to entertain the audience, that was fun to spend a moment with such a music legend.

Thanks to Agnes B store who gave us a goodie "Rough trade" bag with a cd by Kim Fowley & a 2cd compilation of the Sonic Protest Fest.

Eugene Mc Guinness dj set

Later we had a DJ set by Miles Kane's guitar player Eugene Mc Guinness, who's also a solo artist.

Jack White & Norah Jones @ L'Album de la Semaine next week April 2012

JACK WHITE will be recording french TV show L'Album de la semaine on April 20 2012 to promote his solo album "Blunderbuss" before its release on April 24.
