The Rolling Stones ( Part 1) @ TW Classic 2014 in Werchter, Belgium, June 28 2014

The Rolling Stones @ TW Classic 2014 in Werchter, Belgium, June 28 2014
 Admiral Freebee 13:00-14:00
Seasick Steve (with John Paul Jones) 14:30-15:30
 Arno 16:15- 17:15
Trigger Finger  18:00-19:00
Simple Minds 20:00-21:30
Rolling Stones 22:30-00:45
Our last show on this tour for ROCKERPARIS, we've been to Paris' Stade de France (in da pit), to the wonderful Circo Massimo in Roma (in da pit ) and finally the 66 500 capacity TW Classic festival in Werchter.
Easy to get there by car, 15 euros for the parking for the car in a field (in cash of course) than a long 20 min walk to the main entrance and then a HUGE field.
We've missed Seasick Steve but could hear the last 2 songs on our way to the entrance. The festival is sod-out but the pit down the front is quite empty, it will remain like this until the Stones.
Next artist on stage is local hero Arno, who did a good set, singing both in English & French, he's a bit like a Belgium Tom Waits.

Trigger Finger is next, another band from Belgium with some heavy blues rock, we've seen them a few times in Paris. They were well received by the audience but we thought the show was boring or maybe we were starting getting tired and just wanted to have a quiet moment.

Simple Minds is the last band before the Stones, they've played many shows in Werchter these last few years , they were huge in the 80's, it looks like people in Belgium still dig them a lot. They do have a very sexy girl on backing vocals who's taking the lead a couple of times. Overall good show, a nice way to wait the headliners.
Forget to tell you that the stage is ridiculously high, if you're standing on the front row you cannot see anything at all, you have to stand around the 20th row to get a decent view, that's where we are. And still, with the catwalk,( we're on the right) we couldn't see Bernard and Lisa and Chuck for the whole set.
22:30 THE STONES are taking the stage, the pit is now full specially on the left hand-side with all the VIPs.
Mick Jagger is on top form running all around the stage, Keith seems a bit tired though he will play (almost) perfectly on this show. setlist is the same as usual but as Bobby Womack died the previous night we don't have the "request song" and have a tribute to Bobby with "It's all over now" (here on video). They could have played "the request song" and then add the tribute song. I guess the Stones cannot play an additional song to their usual setlist, i mean, what the Fuck ?!?

The highlight of the show, and it's been like this since the beginning of the tour, is "Midnight Rambler" with Mick Taylor
It started raining for the last third of the set, it didn't prevent Mick from going on the catwalk very often and wearing a hat.
Mick Taylor is back on "satisfaction" playing acoustic guitar (?!?).
Another great show by The Stones

Trigger Finger @ 114, Paris May 06 2012 4:00pm

Trigger Finger + The Computers @ 114, Paris May 06 2012 4:00 pm

Special promotional concert on this election day with Plugged mag for Belgium band Trigger Finger. It's been a long time since we've been to an afternoon show, doors are opening @ 4:00pm and there's already a small gathering of dedicated fans outside the bar/club @ 114 Rue Oberkampf.
First we have English Garage /Punk/Rock'n Roll band The Computers for a kicking ass set of ...Garage/Punk/Rock'n Roll music. The singer is doing the show as you can see on the pics above. The Jim Jones Revue would be proud.

After playing at the MOJO release party @ Gibus club last month, Trigger Finger is back in Paris for another free show, this time no invit' needed as its a first-come-first serve-basis.They are promoting the new album.
As usual they've done a kick ass 1h10 min set of Rock-stoner, we were just standing in front of the (gentle) giant on bass, and believe me, I've ate more bass in one gig than for the last ten I've been to.

Trigger Finger @ Gibus club for the launch Party of MOJO Mag, Paris April 10 2012

Trigger Finger @ Gibus club for the launch Party of MOJO Mag, Paris April 10 2012

a few snapshots from Trigger Finger with a mobile

After going to The Gossip's listening party @ Rouge Club in Pigalle, we rushed to the Gibus Club in Republique, unfortunately we've missed the first part of Trigger Finger's set.
As usual they've done a killer set of greasy rock'n roll in front of a VIP audience of hangers on, journalists and record Cie executives.
Cool party but we didn't really had the time to get a JD at the bar or even to meet a few people we wanted to.

MOJO
has always been a reference in the Music Industry & Music Mag in Great Britain so I really hope that the French edition will be as good as the English one.
It looks like it will as the first number is looking great, hope N°2 will be even better
Good luck guys !!!

setlist

Rock & Folk Mag should be in trouble as they do have now a rival that's playing in the same courtyard.

PS: Thanks to L.A.from Mojo for the Invit'
