Coldplay @ Casino de Paris, May 28 2014

Coldplay @ Casino de Paris, May 28 2014
The gig of the year for many as COLDPLAY is filling up stadiums even in France and is playing a "club " show tonight in Paris.
Prices were silly, up to 90 Euros and even 180 Euros for a special pack (priority entry).
Can you believe this ?  Those bastards  are charging twice the price to get into the venue first, there were 150 people in Paris. Of course French security fucked it up...anyway !
Coldplay knows how to squeeze the lemon of their dedicated fans !!!
Lots of guests and the theater is packed downstairs and upstairs and it's hot as hell and the band is not even on stage.
Stage is beautiful with a huge screen in the back , one tree on each side of the stage and lots of stars hanging from the ceilings for a nice effect.
First song is a very slow one (see video below) than the band is getting heavier to get the audience dancing and jumping up and down with their arms up in the air,  yes,  Coldplay fans can do all this at the same time.
Lots of songs sounding like U2 with lots of ooohhs and Aaahs to sing along, only 4 guys on stage but it sounds like there are 12.
Lots of effects and beautiful lightshow, though a bit dark and lasers, the kind of things you'd expect in a stadium.
Of course Chris Martin is getting all the lights and is doing the show , speaking in French to the delight of his fans, you can't take it away from him, the guy is a showman.
Hard to believe that so many people are attracted to this very average band, you could get rid of the three guys and keep the singer nobody will noticed anything.
A bit like the Bay City Rollers who were filling up stadiums in their time, nobody will remember Coldplay, 10 years after they're done.
Perfect concert to invite a young girl you want to go out with, who's listening to crap on the radio and thinks she's cool.
Music-wise it's void !

setlist:

Status Quo @ Casino de Paris, Nov 20 2012

Status Quo @ Casino de Paris, Nov 20 2012

Jesus, can't remember the last time we saw STATUS QUO  live in Paris ? Probably 15 years ago even though they're playing in the French capital almost every year.
The Casino de Paris is quite full and all seated but thanks to the french Fan Club and some English , everyone is standing up and getting closer to the stage so we can boogie all night long...
It's 9:00pm sharp when the band is getting on stage, nice and bright light-show, perfect for take pictures, the sound is loud and very clear and where we are, down the front facing Rick, we can hear LOTS of guitars. It's obvious when you're listening to the video below.
As usual with the Quo , the guys are in fine form with always a smile on their faces to the dedicated fans that are probably following them everywhere on these European Tour. The guys in the first rows are all wearing the t-shirt made specially for this gig in Paris.
With The Quo nothing has changed, still the same 3 chords simple rock 'n Roll, that's what we want from them them and that's what they are giving us: no bullshit.
Just simple basic ol' Boogie Rock'n Roll !

See setlist below for details, we had a drum solo in the middle and like all drum solo it is pretty useless, thankfully they kept it short. They also performed a "medley" of some of their songs.
They probably played some of the new stuff but I'm not very familiar (in fact not at all) with the latest records they've done.
Fortunately they were lots of classics
Cool 90 min set !

Iggy Pop & The Stooges @ Casino de Paris, Paris Sept 25 2012

Iggy & The Stooges are back in Paris after playing The Olympia Theatre on July 07 2010, this time it's a corporate show for a French beer and everyone is invited: competition winners standing up downstairs and guests & VIPs at the balcony. Impossible to attend a Stooges concert without headbanging down the front.
There was a press conference a couple of hours before the show (we didn't go).
The show started at 9:00PM with the best possible way "Raw Power" the first words of Iggy being "Fuck You" & "search & destroy" here on video below. Unfortunately Scott Asheton is NOT on Drums, can't remember the name of the new drummer but he already played with Iggy in the 90's.The rest of the line-up is unchanged but Can we call this The Stooges without The Asheton Brothers ?!?

Iggy is limping more than ever but is acting as wild as ever jumping into the audience several times as usual he's getting a dozen fans on stage at the beginning of the show including our own photographer Guino Patrice who took it cool and took some nice pics from James, Mike, Steve and the new drummer (pics above). It's not the first time than the bastard is getting on stage with The Stooges , he made it too @ Fête de l'Humanité in 2007. The setlist is perfect with all the hits and some Iggy/ Williamson songs , they're even playing "The passenger" & "Louie Louie" from Iggy solo career which tends to prove that it's more Iggy & than a proper Stooges gig.
Can't complain as we had 70 min of pure madness...
