Charlie Watts & The A,B,C & D of Boogie Woogie @ New Morning, Paris Oct 03 2011
2 shows @ 06:00pm & 08:00pm
Intimate concerts for the drummer in The Rolling Stones :Charlie Catts @ this jazz club in Paris.2 shows @ 06:00pm & 08:00pm
2 shows this evening: one @ 6:00pm and 8:00pm.
The audience is more rock 'n roll than @ Duc des Lombards last year.
The first concert started at 6:00pm sharp so we nearly missed the beginning as there was lots of traffic to come back from The Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe @ Longchamp.
For the first song the two piano players are on their own and then the rest of the band is introduced on stage : the guy on double bass and Charlie Watts on drums.
Don't know if I will listen to that kind of music on cd at home but Live it's entertaining even though some songs tend to sound the same in the end.
Don't ask us for the setlist as we don't know any of the songs apart from a couple of covers of Ray Charles.
The second set was different with a different setlist and more rockier songs: great long version of Chuck Berry's "Little Queenie" & Big Joe Turner's " Shake Rattle & Roll".
It was a longer set with an Encore.
Check our friends of Doctor Stones for Pics, review & setlist of French gigs @ Paris & St Germain en Laye.
Very enjoyable to attend a concert in these intimate conditions from a member of the Rolling Stones. Sorry for the lousy Pics the light-show wasn't too bright.
