Crosby Stills & Nash @ Olympia, Paris, Sept 28 2015

Crosby Stills & Nash @ Olympia 28 Sept 2015
with guests Chris Stills & Jimmy Buffet

Graham Nash @ Gibert Joseph store for a signing session of his new book "Wild tales"
 on saturday afternoon.
Two years after playing two shows @ Olympia on July 04th 2013 & July 05th 2013 (click on links for review), CSN is back in Paris for two shows @ the very same place , both shows are sold-out, unfortunately we couldn't go yesterday.
Graham Nash did a signing session for his book on Saturday afternoon @ Gibert Joseph store in the Latin quarter and he and Stephen played "Southern cross" @ Jimmy Buffett concert @ Cigale theatre later that night.
Concert started smoothly with "Carry on" & "Marrakesh express", first part of the show with only classics (including "Just a song before I go"), Stephen's voice is now a bit weak but the guitar playing is as good as ever. Graham and David's voice is perfect.
Band is on top including Shane Fontayne on guitar ( we saw him in the summer playing la Cigale with Jackson Browne), Russell "Russ" Kunkel on drums , Kevin McCormick on bass...
Jimmy Buffett is special guest on "Southern Cross" ( the very same song, Stephen & Graham" played on @ Cigale with Jimmy on Saturday) and for the last song of the first set Chris Stills ( Stephen's son with Veronique Samson) is playing guitar on "Bluebird".(click for video)
End of part 1.

Introducing musicians...
"Southern Cross" with Jimmy Buffet before Chris Stills joins in for "Bluebird".

After a 20 min intermission the band is back on stage with "Helplessly Hoping" then we have solo spots with Stephen Stills playing a Bob Dylan song " Girl for the north Country", Stephen introduces the song by saying that it's better that he's covering a bob Dylan song than Bob covering his song, mocking Bob's voice by singing the first verse of "Helplessly Hoping" in Bob's style.
Then Graham is playing a brand new song that he composed at the olympia during soundcheck last time the band was here : "Olympia" ( click for video) a tribute to the famous Parisian Music-hall.
then David Crosby is also playing a brand new song "Somebody Home"
New song "Olympia" played  by Graham & Shane Fontayne (written at the Olympia Theatre in Paris for the Olympia.)
Back to the classics with Chris on guitar or backing vocals for the rest of the 2nd set.
with guest Chris Stills on several songs tonight
Another great show by CSN
A voir ici.

Raven @ Maroquinerie, Paris, Sept 22 2015

Raven @ Maroquinerie, Paris, Sept 22 2015
English 80's Hard Rockers RAVEN playing a show in France at last
Thrash Metal band form UK, Raven is playing a show in France ... at last. They've only played in Paris once, opening for Kreator @ the Elysée Montmartre on May 16 1989.

Not a lot of people tonight, around 150 lunatics to attend the return of RAVEN in the french Capital.Lunatics but devoted fans who knew all the lyrics from the classic songs. A bit shocked to see that Mark, the guitar player, is weighing probably more than 200 pounds, I can remember pics of him from the late 80's when he was tall & thin.
They're giving it all on stage , running from one side of the stage to the other. Sound is rough as it was back then on their early records.
They were on the verge of making it in the late 80's but are now playing clubs so there's a feeling of sadness to see them playing in a half empty Maroquinerie.
We're going to many Arenas to attend concerts that we tend to forget that there is a "working class" scene where bands are probably struggling to make a decent living but are still giving everything to satisfy fans and RAVEN is one of them, so they should get respect for that.

SETLIST: (this is the setlist from a show in Germany, I guess it was the same tonight with maybe the addition of "crash bang wallop", can't remember !)
