Jake Bugg @ Album de la Semaine, Canal+, Paris Nov 20 2013

Jake Bugg @ Album de la Semaine, Canal+, Paris Nov 20 2013

see ya there for this tv show, one day before his show @ Olypia to play songs from the new album "Shangri La"

Setlist: 1) There's a beast 2) Strorm passes 3) Messed up kis 4) Pine Trees 5) Song about love 6) All your reasons 7) Scumville sunrise 8) What doesn't kill ya

Jake Bugg with a drummer and a bass player only playing his new song, a bit different than his first album, now there are some proper rock songs mixed with some acoustic stuff and his trademark Roy Orbison/ Johnny Cash stuff. The little fucker is talented, whatever style he's playing he's good.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds @ Zénith, Paris Nov 19 2013

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds @ Zénith, Paris Nov 19 2013
Nick Cave is getting more and more popular over here in France as he's playing a sold-out Zénith tonight, two support bands tonight Shilpa Ray & Les Colettes but we arrived just at the end, we really wondered what to do, go to the Stade de France for France-Ukraine or Nick Cave , it was so cold outside we preferred the warmth of the Zénith.

I guess that all the "bobos" in their late 30s were here tonight, nice atmosphere though. Nick is smartly dressed, wonder what kind of grease he's using for his black hair.
It started nicely with a very slow song from the new album, Nick Cave is as wild running from one side to the other of the stage and getting down the front to touch his fans of the first rows all along the set.
Tonight we had lots of slow and mid-tempo songs , too many for me, sometimes it was going wild but not as much as I would have liked.
The one that was wild was Warren Ellis playing like a maniac on his guitar or violin and throwing his bow several times up in the air.
Very touching ballads in the middle of the set when Nick is playing on the piano.
Too bad he didn't respect the setlist by not playing any songs from my favorite album "Abattoir Blues".
Nevertheless we had a great 2 hour show and a satisfied audience.

setlist:
We No Who U R
Jubilee Street
Tupelo
Red Right Hand
Mermaids
The Weeping Song
From Her to Eternity
West Country Girl
God Is in the House
People Ain't No Good
Into My Arms
Higgs Boson Blues
The Mercy Seat
Stagger Lee
Push the Sky Away

encore
We Real Cool
Papa Won't Leave You, Henry
Deanna

Stephen King Meet & Greet @ Grand Rex, Paris Nov 16 2013

Stephen King Question & Answer @ Grand Rex, Paris Nov 16 2013

Stephen with Augustin Trapenard doing the interview

Stephen King doing a Q&A @ Grand Rex theatre in Paris ( we went to see Bob Dylan there 3 times this week), the 2500 capacity theatre was sold-out ages ago.
30 euros to get in and you could get the 25 euros book on your way in, so it was quite cheap to meet the King. And a very good technic for Albin Michel, the French publisher to sell 2500 books in just one night, a good way to have it  N°1 in the charts.
plus Maxime Chattam (-Rockerparis- is hiding somewhere in the audience on this pic)

It started on time 8:30pm with Stephen and interviewer and translator sitting on red sofas and chatting for 70 min before taking questions from the audience for the last 20 min.
Stephen read a couple of pages and left the premises.
Nice evening with the King.

VIPs in the audience tonight included Elliott Murphy, French actress Léa Seidoux and French Minister of Justice (Secretary of the Justice Department for the yanks) Christiane Taubira who, when she left the premises was mobbed by the audience like a Rock Star with people clapping and supporting her as she has been called this morning by a right-wing newspaper as a " Monkey, get your banana",it's all over the press since this morning over here.
