Charlie Watts & The A,B,C & D of Boogie Woogie @ New Morning, Paris Oct 03 2011

Charlie Watts & The A,B,C & D of Boogie Woogie @ New Morning, Paris Oct 03 2011
2 shows @ 06:00pm & 08:00pm

Intimate concerts for the drummer in The Rolling Stones :Charlie Catts @ this jazz club in Paris.
2 shows this evening: one @ 6:00pm and 8:00pm.
The audience is more rock 'n roll than @ Duc des Lombards last year.

The first concert started at 6:00pm sharp so we nearly missed the beginning as there was lots of traffic to come back from The Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe @ Longchamp.
For the first song the two piano players are on their own and then the rest of the band is introduced on stage : the guy on double bass and Charlie Watts on drums.
Don't know if I will listen to that kind of music on cd at home but Live it's entertaining even though some songs tend to sound the same in the end.

Don't ask us for the setlist as we don't know any of the songs apart from a couple of covers of Ray Charles.

The second set was different with a different setlist and more rockier songs: great long version of Chuck Berry's "Little Queenie" & Big Joe Turner's " Shake Rattle & Roll".
It was a longer set with an Encore.

Check our friends of Doctor Stones for Pics, review & setlist of French gigs @ Paris & St Germain en Laye.

Very enjoyable to attend a concert in these intimate conditions from a member of the Rolling Stones. Sorry for the lousy Pics the light-show wasn't too bright.

Rockerparis loves horses too, we were invited to the n°1 Horse-Race @ Hippodrome de Longchamp.
Lots of very posh people and LOTS of very sexy-well-dressed women.
Couldn't miss this one and the weather is truly fantastic.
Nice sunday afternoon.

Hard to believe there are so many people in the streets of Paris, feels like National Day.
Caténaires 4.1.2. @ bibliothéque Historique de la Ville de Paris : it remembers me of something
"Purple rain" (center)

The " Purple rain" was probably the most crowded attraction from the night.

The Travelling Band @ L'International, Paris sept 29 2011

The Travelling Band @ L'International, Paris sept 29 2011

The Travelling Band, Folk band from Manchester, not to be confused with a CCR cover band, are playing the International club in Ménilmontant. As always @ L'International it's a free gig and drinks are cheap.
The weather has been wonderful this week in Paris, better than this summer, it's 10:00pm and it's still more than 25°C outside, perfect weather to have dinner on a terrace but tonight we preferred to get stuck in the basement of the club to attend this gig.
5 guys on stage with cool vocal harmonies à la CSN.
Most of their songs are folk but sometimes they did get angry and ended some of their songs like a heavy rock band which is the stuff that we like @ Rockerparis.
Or maybe was it because part of the audience in the back were talking too loud, we don't know but they should have listen to this band more carefully as they did a very good set
