Rivkah @ Oliver Peel session #16 Paris Feb 13th 2010

Rivkah @ Oliver Peel session #16
Paris Feb 13th 2010 6:00 PM

Back @ Oliver's place 2 weeks after attending Orouni's session.
This time it is for french artist Rivkah, as you can see on the pictures she's not playing Heavy Metal, another folk artist but no acoustic guitar this time. Just a small keyboard, some loops, 2 friends on backing vocals & violin and a soft high voice.
Not really the kind of music I'm usely listening to but she's got her own world that is worth exploring. Check her on myspace.
She's also designing stage clothes ( Gojira among many others... )
As usual @ Oliver's many folk freaks came for this private gig, only half of them are on the picture below as many left straight after the gig ( it's saturday night ).
Rivkah came with her possee so 'we' felt like foreigners in 'our' own land;-).

Nice boots, honey !

French Actress ( & Roman Polanski's wife) Emmanuelle Seigner has just released her second album and she's doing a showcase at the fnac store on this saturday afternoon to promote it.
Short 6 songs set with a guitar player a drummer, Her first album was rock this one is more pop and sung in French ( why ? the first one was in English).
Can't really say that she's a great singer, far from it, the music is OK but some of the lyrics ( she didn't wrote them ) are just really bad.
Nevertheless it was a cool 30 min set.
Small interview and signing session at the end.
Emmanuelle was nice and chatty with everyone.

The Strokes recording new album on video

The Strokes are recording their 4th album at New York City's Avatar's studios.
They've just released a video from the recording process.
The record should be out in September, They're also planning two shows for this summer.
Watch them working on the new song " Taken for a fool":

I've received many E-mails asking us about Parisian shows, well I know but apart from the cold weather and sometimes snow there's NOTHING going in Paris right now... and for most of February.
That's why we're updating the site with News.
So stay tuned...

Tonight is an Oliver Peel session with Rivkah
Monday the 15th Album de la semaine recording with Lee Fields
Tuesday the 16th Album de la semaine recording with Local Natives
