MUSE @ Théatre du Chatelet Paris Sept 8th 2009

MUSE 's 'secret show'
@ Paris' Théatre du Chatelet Sept 8th 2009

Beautiful théatre
MUSE is playing this beautiful Théatre in the heart of Paris for what is supposed to be a secret show, of course everybody knew a long time ago that they were to play here.
Most of the people here are guests and journalists , they sold tickets today.
A radio , I won't name , was supposed to tell at 8:00 AM how to get tickets but these bastards only told the name of the venue, what a bunch of cunts.
Anyway people were already queuing on the side of the Theatre to secure tickets sold for 30 euros at ... 7:00PM only.
I thought it would be a mess but everything was well organised with lots of security , after queuing people were getting into the venue to buy their tickets at the box office.
No one could go out after so NO black market AT ALL.
The show started late ( around 9:30 PM ) , it was an all seated event but 5 min before the band get on the stage everybody rush down the front.
I'm not too familiar with their repertoire , I only have one cd , but Muse have always been a great band live.
Cool to see them in such an intimate place as they're filling out stadiums , they're playing a sod-out Bercy Arena in a couple of months.
We had a few songs from the new cd and lots of hits ( see setlist below ) with a couple of average songs in the middle.
The light was neat and powerfull as always with MUSE.
Maybe they should make a effort to get dressed properly , I'm sure they can do better than wearing lousy t-shirts.
Great show in front of a dedicated audience.

Blue Oyster Cult @ Olympia Paris Sept 6th 2009

Blue Oyster Cult / Uriah Heep
@ Olympia Paris Sept 6th 2009
Second on stage just after Uriah Heep, is american rock band Blue Oyster Cult ,last time they were in Paris was in 1993.
Down the front the sound & the light show is perfect in the sold out Olympia theater.
Lots of line -up changes : Richie Castellano is playing guitar & Keyboards ( Allen Lanier is no more ) , Jules Radino is on drums , Danny Miranda is back on bass ( Rudy Sarzo couldn't be here ).
Buck Dharma & Eric Bloom are the only original members.
Is it still The BOC without Allen ?
The audience is wild straight from the beginning of the set.
This is amazing how many great songs this band has.
They've played them all , " ME262", Hot rails to hell", " Godzilla", " Don't fear the reaper", Buck's Boogie" , Burning for you" , " then came the last days of may" ...

They've played songs they don't do too often like " Black Blade" + another one i can't remember & " Harvest Moon" from Heaven Forbid plus one song from their last cd Curse of the hidden mirror.
I'm not really objective as The BOC is one of my favorite band , but they've done a killer show.
Buck hasn't change at all during all these years, his guitar playing is as fluent as it was in the 70's same voice as well.
Eric is playing a bit more keyboards leaving guitar work on some songs to the new guy Richie who's doing well.
Also funny to see how Eric Bloom is looking like french DJ Francis Zégut.

As Danny Miranda was playing in Queen for the last couple of years we had a short Queen medley on Bass in the middle of " Godzilla"

The last song before the encore was a killer version of " Born to be wild" ( here on video ) with Eric getting on stage riding a Harley davidson.
GREAT !!!

Certainly one of the best concert I've been to this year so far.
