Sept 11th 2009

Beth with french OUI FM DJ Linda Lorin behind her clapping.

Gossip is doing lots of promo in Paris , 2 days ago they've played for Le Mouv' rock radio and did a tv show for Canal+ : " Le grand Journal " playing one song live.
Yesterday they recorded "Taratata" tv Show and tonight they're doing another radio show for the other rock radio in Paris OUI FM broadcasted live on the air.
They did exactly the same setlist as 2 days ago playing for around 50 min with the exception of an encore consisting of Tina Turner 's " What 's love got to do with it" HERE on video.
Cool dance-rock gig once again with Beth doing the show.

David Lynch exhibition @ Galeries Lafayette Paris Sept 10th 2009

David Lynch exhibition
@ Galeries Lafayette Paris

from the inside of the store ( right )
First there are a few " tableaux" in 3d visible from the street in the shop-windows .
Stunning !
Galeries Lafayette is a bit like a less posh version of Harrods

Then on the first floor there is the exhibition with "lithographie" , there are numbered and for sale ( 1800 euros each ) , most of them black , some with colours ( below )
There is also a cinema within the exhibition in which you can watch some of his early ( very ) experimental videos. Weird.

One of the stone for the making of the lithographie ( left )

Pony Pony Run Run video shooting for The Hiboo Paris Sept 10th 2009

Pony Pony Run Run video shooting for Le Hiboo
@ Place des Vosges Paris Sept 10 th 2009

now girls are smoking the pipe

Young french band : Pony Pony Run Run ( what kind of name is this ;- )) is shooting for the website Le Hiboo at the beautiful Place des Vosges; things started a bit late, around 5PM.
Many people came to see the shooting 95% of them beautiful teenage girls.
I have to drop this shit and play some guitar. LOL
They did a couple of takes in the square and then another 2 in a street nearby, so that was pretty quick probably because no one asked the police to shoot in the streets of Paris.
I didn't know which band it was at all ( i was invited by a friend ) but I knew one of their song which is quite good.
5:30PM time to go to the David Lynch exhibition at the Galleries Lafayette.

There's someone here who knows she's cute

Olé !!!!!!!!!
Video to come shortly

Gossip , Private gig for Le Mouv' radio In Paris Sept 9th 2009

Gossip @ Le Mouv' radio
Paris Sept 9th 2009

One more gig by Gossip in Paris , I don't know how many times they've played here these last 3 years but i'm sure we're getting close to 12 gigs including tv performances , radio shows , secret shows festival or just normal gigs.
This time they're playing in the studio 104 for a few hundred kids @ Radio France for Le Mouv' rock radio.
We arrived there early so we could see the end of the soundcheck and Patrice took some pics from the show ( Courtesy of the lovely PR Laurence A. ) of course he was moaning as he took a wrong camera and complained that the lightshow was crap. He's partly right but hey buddy ! it's a radio show.

But we and all the audience couldn't complain at all after what we've seen tonight.
Gossip
might have some average songs but live they fucking rock , Beth is a real show-woman walking that stage like a lion in a cage and sometimes escaping that cage to have a walk around the stalls to the fans ' delight. ( see pics below )
Beth is a gay icon so lots of gays & lesbians at the show , too bad some of the girls were really hot.

Better view from the seats

Cool setlist with a couple of covers for this 45 min set.
Setlist

The radio gave away some posters on the way out while we were heading to the upstairs bar for the aftershow party. The singer from french band Indochine was there making a quick exit, french gay icon Sliimy too.
Beth and the band members came to say hello and sign cds and posters.
Nice evening, when's the next one ?

Fnac

OK, I love The Beatles but 255 Euros for a boxset with 10 cds , yeah 25 euros for a cd ,
I've never payed that amount for a boxset.
Why do I have the awful sensation of being fucked in the ass by EMI.

MUSE @ Théatre du Chatelet Paris Sept 8th 2009

MUSE 's 'secret show'
@ Paris' Théatre du Chatelet Sept 8th 2009

Beautiful théatre
MUSE is playing this beautiful Théatre in the heart of Paris for what is supposed to be a secret show, of course everybody knew a long time ago that they were to play here.
Most of the people here are guests and journalists , they sold tickets today.
A radio , I won't name , was supposed to tell at 8:00 AM how to get tickets but these bastards only told the name of the venue, what a bunch of cunts.
Anyway people were already queuing on the side of the Theatre to secure tickets sold for 30 euros at ... 7:00PM only.
I thought it would be a mess but everything was well organised with lots of security , after queuing people were getting into the venue to buy their tickets at the box office.
No one could go out after so NO black market AT ALL.
The show started late ( around 9:30 PM ) , it was an all seated event but 5 min before the band get on the stage everybody rush down the front.
I'm not too familiar with their repertoire , I only have one cd , but Muse have always been a great band live.
Cool to see them in such an intimate place as they're filling out stadiums , they're playing a sod-out Bercy Arena in a couple of months.
We had a few songs from the new cd and lots of hits ( see setlist below ) with a couple of average songs in the middle.
The light was neat and powerfull as always with MUSE.
Maybe they should make a effort to get dressed properly , I'm sure they can do better than wearing lousy t-shirts.
Great show in front of a dedicated audience.
