Second show for the Arctic Monkeys @ Zénith ( 6500 capacity ) , once again it's SOLD-OUT, well almost there are still seats left at the back.It sounds so nice to say it's sold-out .

Eagles of death Metal are opening, how many times times have these guys been playing in Paris this year ? 5-6 times can't remember.
Still the same shit , they're funny but the music sucks, at least they're funny.
They should change their name to Pigeons of Shit Metal , as Axl Rose famously called them after kicking them of the tour after 2 shows, it would suit them better.

Time ( 9:15 PM ) for the Modern heroes to take the stage , young girls are already wet when Artic Monkeys show their faces with a first slow song then it's rocking.

Can't really say that this band is the best LIVE band , the music is really fresh , rock and with the last album they're climbing the ladder of credibility, well they already had it with the previous records.
Much more maturity now and they do have an additional player on keys and guitar.
The only problem is that the singer seems to be bored to death on stage or maybe he took too many downers. He seems as if he's in slow motion.

Good 90 min show but just above average.

The Killer is back in Paris with Linda gail Lewis less than one year after burning down the Zénith ( click HERE & HERE to see review setlist Pics & Video from that show with Chuck Berry).
This time the theatre is smaller but it's one of the most beautiful in France and it is situated in the heart of Paris., it has just been restored.

Linda Gail Lewis was a good starter.
After letting his band playing 4 songs, Jerry Lee Lewis is getting on the stage and all his fans are rushing to the front to get the best spot in front of him, including our photographer Patrice Guino.

Last time at the Zénith he did a Killer set but at his age years are counting double.
He still has that "Thing" in his eyes but it's getting harder and harder to move the rest.
He's barely looking at the audience as if he was on autopilot.

Of course he played all the hits : " Chantily lace","cc rider", " Whole lotta Shaking going on" ( here on video).

Still playing rock'n roll covers , nice piano playing and she's smiling.

First on stage is French Janis Joplin called Izia, it could have been a problem to her to open for Motorhead. She did really well with her classic rock band, she's giving it all on stage and get Lemmy's fans eating in her hand.

Then MOTORHEAD, yes Lemmy we know you're Motorhead and you're playing Rock 'n Roll !!!
Nice start with the "Iron Fist" then " Stay Clean".
It's a small Zénith tonight ( 2500 seats ) and it's almost full , quite an achievement as Motorhead played here last year ( Click for review Pics & Video ) and there is nothing to promote today.

Sorry no Pics from our photographer Patrice Guino as this lazy bastard prefered to relax in the stalls.

As usual with Motorhead they always put on a great show , they have so many great songs ( see video of "Going to Brazil" & " Killed by death" ).
Once again they've played a couple of songs from " Another Perfect Day" one of my fav record ending the set with "Overkill"
90 min sharp including encore , not the best show they've done but they are still kicking ass.

Bad Lieutenant is playing the sold-out Olympia tonight opening for headliner Bat For Lashes ( Les Inrocks Fest ) but before that they're doing a showcase at the Fnac store at 5:30 Pm.
We were allowed in just before 6:00 as the band were rehearsing a long time just to play 3 songs, yes only 3 songs !!!
They've played 2 new songs and last one was from NEW Order ( Here on video ).

Then they did sign stuff to people , nothing was really organised as the band was in a hurry , Bernard Sumner signed records to whoever was next to him in a very relax atmosphere , no one was pushing and he took the time to speak to fans .

Troy Van Leeuven, guitar player in Queens Of The Stone Age has a band Sweethead and they're playing tonight at Canal+ tv show " L' Album de la Semaine".

More and more rock bands are dressed in a very smart way , Sweethead is one of them , all dressed with black suits ,and white boots for Troy.
A Very sexy blonde with curly hair and nice red lips is on vocals dressed with a short black dress and black polish high heel shoes ( Christian Louboutin's ? ) looking like Madonna/Debby Harry.
Enough for the look let's talk about the music , it's a straight rock band with rocking Jack D vocals that reminded me of 80's indie English rock with a taste of American west coast rock.
It was the first time i was listening to the songs, unfortunately if most of the songs are good, you can't single out one or two.
To succeed in this tough world you need a good single and i couldn't find any catchy songs tonight in their 7 songs set.

Ebony Bones is the new media darling in Paris , there's a real buzz for this band for the last months.
They've played the Rock en Seine festival in August and they will play Les Inrocks festival in a few days.
I've never heard their music but I know that this English band is very colourful.
It is indeed , first there are ten in the band and all dressed in the most colourful clothes you can think of.
The music is very lively with some heavy drums ( there are two drummers ) like being trapped at the Notting hill Carnaval.
You can't help but dance and the black female singer is a real entertainer.
Too bad they only played 5 songs ( the last one being instrumental ).

See ya tomorrow on the same TV set for Sweethead, Troy Van Leeuven 's new band ( He's from Queens Of The Stone Age so it's gonna fucking rock sa mère )
