Went to see a friend of mine and as her family was there for this long week-end, I prefered making a quick exit and having a walk in the nearby Cimetiere de passy, where i've never been before.
Took Pics randomly, there was some much light that I could barely see what I was doing.
I just had a small digital camera
Peacefull even though you could still hear the noise coming from the Trocadero.
Lots of famous people here, many of them from the Aristocracy, political men, plane pilots from the 20's, captains of industry, composers & actors.

Lady Bug opens the show
This Oliver Peel session #24 nearly didn't happened : lute player Jozef Van Wissen cancelled at the eleventh hour because of a severe tendonitis to his wrist.
Jeanne who was supposed to open for him consequently refused to play so...
Oliver did his best and thanks to his many contacts could secure two other acts for tonight's Oliver Peel session.
First is Polish folk lady LadyBug , opening her short set on banjo then on acoustic guitar for some cool folk-rock songs.

Then we have French Folk artist Ollie Furry , who's also familiar to the oliver peel session as a member of the audience, dark low voice and acoustic guitar, the 5 songs E.P. that he was selling was sold-out after he played his short set so check his myspace for more.(and our video)

Headlining tonight from Washington state is American band The Solvents, They're good friends with June Madrona band which already played here.
Another folk-rock act this time with acoustic guitar and violin but it is a real band on cd with drums, bass and some electric guitars. So don't get fooled by the video on ROCKERPARIS, they're much more Indie rock on the album.

Juliette Lewis @ Fleche d' Or, Paris may 20th 2010
American Hollywood actress Juliette Lewis is doing a residency @ Fleche d'Or in Paris.
First show was yesterday and she's playing tomorrow (friday) and the day after tomorrow.
La Fleche d'or is probably trying to beat the Bataclan for the "hottest" club in Paris , so hot in there... hot & sweaty.
We just get in time to see the last song of the support band.
It's quite full though far from being sold-out, lots of photographers down the front including our own : Patrice Guino.
Relax atmosphere but it's so hot , it's hard to make a move without sweating, La Fleche d'Or needs you to order more and more beer at the bar as the entrance is only 8 Euros ( with a free drink).
We know that Juliette Lewis is a real rock chick maybe not a great singer but she's a real tiger on stage.
We already saw her at the Trabendo a couple of years ago.She was on fire.
Pure vintage rock'n roll à la Grand Funk. She can't stop.
Tonight lots of rock'n roll songs but not only, a couple are more laid back or maybe it is because of the heat she's playing longer version just to cool down a bit.
She did a bit of stage-diving into the audience and crowd surfing and had the Frenchies sing a bit.
She's giving it all on stage maybe too much as she only played for 45 min and NO encore.
Very nice show anyway.
Keep on Roooooocking , Babbyyy !!!

SCORPIONS @ Olympia, Paris May 19th 2010 Part 1
SCORPIONS @ Olympia Part 1
Sold-out tonight for the SCORPIONS @ the Olympia theatre (2500 capacity).Scalpers are selling tickets outside for 150 Euros, twice the price of the face value ( between 60 & 90 euros)
Expensive isn't it ?
Don't worry they will be back for a few more shows in France in October and in Paris next year.
Sounds like Bob Dylan "never ending tour" as Scorpions will be touring to promote their new album for the next 3 years.
The stage is massive with platforms in the back, the drums is on a riser. A couple of screens on both sides and a stunning lightshow probably the biggest and the brightess I have ever seen at the Olympia.
They opened the set with a new song "sting in the tail" and then we had a "greatest hits" setlist.
Scroll down for the detailed setlist.
Amazing how many great song this band has.
No time to stop each song is played one after another.
Rudolph Schenker is always doing funny faces great poses and has cool designed guitars.
Klaus Meine's voice is great, he doesn't move as much as he used to but maybe he's more focus on his singing as I've seen a couple of cameras in the back recording the set.

Scorpions is well-known for its ballads so we had a few of them , too bad I'm not really fan of ballads I've always prefer to rock like a hurricane LOL"Send me an angel" was dedicated to the late great RONNIE JAMES DIO.
Fortunatelly they didn't play too many songs from their latest album, the songs are ok but the lyrics are so stupid. It's unbelievable.
James Kottack on drums is the Wild One, cool drum solo playing drums over Scorpions'sample of songs and funny short films on the screens.
Lots of audience participation for the choruses specially for the ballads.
Great show but they should get rid of one or two of their ballads, 4 for just one show is waaaayy too much.
120 min set
Scorpions are giving you all and its worth every penny.
