Mini Mansions @ L'Album de la Semaine, Canal+, Paris Jan 21 2015

Mini Mansions @ L'Album de la Semaine, Canal+, Paris Jan 21 2015

The bass player from QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE is having with his own band and some electro-rop music.
The band is signed on Domino, Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys) is doing backing vocals on one song and Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) joined them on stage recently in London.
Pic right, rehearsals (c) Album de la Semaine

With Tyler Parkford: vocals, keyboard on the left, Michael Shuman (from QOTSA) Vocals, drums & a bit of guitar, center stage & Zach Dawes on bass on the right.
They started the set with 3 quiet songs, you can feel  a bit of a Beatles influence and then playing mostly 80's electro-pop sounding songs which is not our cup of tea at all.
Only one song with some guitar ("Death is a girl") and, unfortunately, lots of keyboards.
On "Vertigo" Alex Turner is a surprise guest on vocals ( he sung with them in London a few days ago), once again posing ridiculously as if he was Elvis Presley...
The band ended their set with a long heavy song with some heavy fuzzy bass which was the best one tonight.
They came back on stage to play a couple of songs again, including the one with Alex Turner (with exactly the same ridiculous stage moves).
Miles Kane was in the audience too but I didn't see him.
Overall just good above average set.
