Peaceful week-end in Fontainebleau

Saturday afternoon in the park

Our residence for the week-end (above)... not really & The eagle has landed

"a horse with no name"

Away from the tumultuous life of a rock'n roller in Paris, we went away for the week-end in the delightful small city of Fontainebleau just 40 km outside Paris for some horse riding and peaceful time.
That was before we learned that Gary Moore passed away.
Hard to get away from the modern world and its sad news

The White Stripes ... remembered

The White Stripes... remembered
in Paris 2005 & 2007

June 11 2007 & Zénith in Paris (above & below)

Oct 16 2005 @ Zénith (above & below)

They've also played the Olympia theatre in 2003 but Patrice Guino , our photographer, can't find his pictures... well in fact he doesn't remember taking Pics that night.
Too bad as he was invited to the show by none other than Meg.

Nashville Pussy + Steve Conte & the Crazy Truth @ Le Plan in Ris Orangis Feb 3 2011

Nashville Pussy + Steve Conte & the Crazy Truth @ Le Plan
Ris Orangis, Feb 03 2011
Steve Conte & The Crazy Truth

Ah ! Ris Orangis, you have to take the train to go there, half an hour from Paris, the place is in the middle of nowhere , hard to believe you can find such a nice rock club in this shithole.
Le Plan : I have good memories, I already saw the Nashville Pussy here but also Motorhead and a few others I can't remember including Rory Gallagher a long time ago.
Le Plan is a 500 capacity club with a nice view everywhere you stand and there's a cool bar/restaurant nextdoor.
It's 7:30 and the doors are still closed, there's a long queue outside, the ticket is cheap only 18 euros.
Steve Conte ( former New York Dolls ) is opening with his band The Crazy Truth.
Steve is the guy responsible for (most of ) all the guitar work in the NYD, he's holding the house together while Sylvain Sylvain is doing the show.
Crazy truth is a power trio and Steve is as cool as fuck, it might not be original but it's pure Rock'n Roll, the best. Lots of cool guitar licks and the guy can deliver on vocals.
Very good set funny how Steve is looking like Izzy Stradlin from the early Guns N Roses on his backdrop.
Nice to have such a quality support band for once, almost a double bill.
See what you've missed:

Then we have Nashville Pussy, we already saw them dozens of time for the last ten years, they haven't change they still have the flame burning and from start to finish it's non-stop rock'n roll Take no prisoners.

Short and fast songs with funny titles (see setlist). Ruyter Suys on guitar is making the show, the female Angus. They've played many songs from the recent albums which we're less familiar with ( shame on us).
No time to breath between songs as they're played one after another.
On your feet... or on your knees !
100 % Pure energy
Great set but they kept it short 9:40 to 10:45
Ruyter :The female Angus

A fucking nightmare to go back to Paris afterwards. Should get a car.
