Divine Comedy @ Black Session on May 3rd CANCELLED

Neil @ Cité de la Musique Sept 2008

Divine Comedy was to play a Black session for C'est Lenoir on France Inter radio on May 3rd.
It has been cancelled by the radio as they were expecting a full live band and NOT Neil Hannon on his own.
What a bunch of fucking morons
Neil Hannon IS Divine Comedy.

French website A short site about The Divine comedy is trying to get Neil to play another show instead on the very same day, sign the petition HERE.

Hughes-Bonham-Bonamassa-Sherinian supergroup dead before birth ?

The supergroup originally know as Black Country with former Deep Purple bass player Glenn Hughes, Drummer Jason Bonham (Foreigner, Led Zeppelin) , Joe Bonamassa on guitar & Derek Sherinian on keyboards dead before birth ?

The album is completed and should be out in September.

Kevin Shirley who produced it, just wrote on his Facebook page: "Black Country looks to have imploded, with a completed album in the can! We set out as friends and lovers of music, to make something special. Then the managers got involved... and kept changing their wants, ultimately demanding EVERYTHING! I can't absolve all the musicians - but one I can completely absolve, is the one who actually has a career and has just been voted Best Guitarist in the World - who was 100% open ALL the way. And he doesn't ride on anyone's coattails... see below. Maybe they'll come to their senses.... I'm not holding my breath."

In other news:
  • Bret Michaels singer from Poison is in stable condition after beeing admitted in a LA hospital for a brain Hemorrhage. First reports were saying that he was in critical condition.
  • Ozzy Osbourne will play the iTunes fest @ London's famous RoundHouse on July 3rd.
  • A friend of mine saw Peter Doherty yesterday in Paris. Secret show ?

"Supertramp" is back with "70/10 European Tour" to celebrate 40 years

"Supertramp" is back in Europe to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of their first album.
They will play 35 shows in Europe starting in September including 6 in France:

Nantes October 12
Clermont-Ferrand ( 14)
Lyon ( 16)
Paris Bercy ( 18)
Toulouse ( 20)
Toulon ( 21)

Without Roger Hodgson or Dougie Thomson.

Roger Hodgson will be playing the Palais des Congres in Paris on Sept 24th ( Click on name for all dates).

Many people were expecting a FULL reunion but with what Roger said today about this "reunion" without him and asking "Supertramp"to remove his songs from the shows as Rick & Roger agreed many years ago when Roger left the band, I really doubt so.

Don McLean & Jessica Kilroy @ Cigale, Paris April 22nd 2010

Don McLean + Jessica Kilroy
@ Cigale, Paris April 22nd 2010
After seeing so many young folk ladies @ Fleche d'Or, Maroquinerie or @ Oliver's , it's time to see the godfather of all these Folkies Mr Don Mc Lean.
The guy's a living legend unfortunately like all living legends at one moment in their career, no one seems to bother, particularly in France as the balcony is closed and the all seated pit is far from beeing full.
He's playing London's Royal Albert Hall next month (45 Euros).
Once again ticket prices were very expensive betwen 55 & 75 Euros.
He may be a legend in the US of A. not in France.

As we're taking our seats on the first row dead center @ 8:00PM , the beautiful Jessica Kilroy is already playing. She has been dubbed the new Emmylou Harris.
Really good looking , pure voice and folk (with a bit of country-bluegrass) songs.
Nice starter before Don McLean
Jessica Kilroy may look freil but the lady's a killer, she used to be a firefighter and a rock climbing guide in her Montana state.
Short intermission before Don McLean
He should have played with his band but because of the Volcano they couldn't fly to Europe so he's on his own for the beginning of his European Tour.
I'm not really familiar with his repertoire apart from a couple of his hits but as he's alone on stage he has decided to play songs that he normally doesn't play.
He's starting the gig with a Buddy holly cover, he will play other covers (Dylan's "Masters of War", Woody Guthrie's "Hard travelling " on banjo , Elvis Presley's "That's all right mama") and maybe a few others.
Lots of folk songs including some written at the beginning of last century.
Between Johnny Cash & Neil Diamond or Elvis (when he was playing ballads on acoustic guitar).
He's telling lots of stories between songs.
Very enthousiastic audience
Of course he played ( a long version) of his Hit "American Pie" dedicated to Buddy Holly as the last song of his 110 min concert.
It's here on video sorry it's cut looong before the end !
Very nice evening, too bad we were so few @ La Cigale.

Signing stuff but not shaking hand ;-)
