Blue Oyster Cult @ Olympia Paris Sept 6th 2009

Blue Oyster Cult / Uriah Heep
@ Olympia Paris Sept 6th 2009
Second on stage just after Uriah Heep, is american rock band Blue Oyster Cult ,last time they were in Paris was in 1993.
Down the front the sound & the light show is perfect in the sold out Olympia theater.
Lots of line -up changes : Richie Castellano is playing guitar & Keyboards ( Allen Lanier is no more ) , Jules Radino is on drums , Danny Miranda is back on bass ( Rudy Sarzo couldn't be here ).
Buck Dharma & Eric Bloom are the only original members.
Is it still The BOC without Allen ?
The audience is wild straight from the beginning of the set.
This is amazing how many great songs this band has.
They've played them all , " ME262", Hot rails to hell", " Godzilla", " Don't fear the reaper", Buck's Boogie" , Burning for you" , " then came the last days of may" ...

They've played songs they don't do too often like " Black Blade" + another one i can't remember & " Harvest Moon" from Heaven Forbid plus one song from their last cd Curse of the hidden mirror.
I'm not really objective as The BOC is one of my favorite band , but they've done a killer show.
Buck hasn't change at all during all these years, his guitar playing is as fluent as it was in the 70's same voice as well.
Eric is playing a bit more keyboards leaving guitar work on some songs to the new guy Richie who's doing well.
Also funny to see how Eric Bloom is looking like french DJ Francis Zégut.

As Danny Miranda was playing in Queen for the last couple of years we had a short Queen medley on Bass in the middle of " Godzilla"

The last song before the encore was a killer version of " Born to be wild" ( here on video ) with Eric getting on stage riding a Harley davidson.
GREAT !!!

Certainly one of the best concert I've been to this year so far.

Uriah Heep @ Olympia Paris Sept 6th 2009

Uriah Heep / Blue Oyster Cult
@ Olympia Paris Sept 6th 2009

Double bill

It took 27 years to Uriah Heep to finally come back to Paris.
Of course there has been a few changes , some have left , some have died but Uriah heep is still alive and well.
Mick Box is the only survivor from the original line-up , now they have Bernie Shaw on vocals , Trevor Bolder on bass, Phil Lanzon on Keys & new guy Russel Gilbrook on Drums.
My head in your butt ( right )
Nice boot

Uriah Heep is the first band on stage but are playing a full show , there's not really an opening act , Harley Davidson France the promoter of this gig wanted a double act bill.
I can't say i know them as I never really took the time to listen to their music, but they've deliver a very good show with lots of epic songs
Trevor Bolder from "Ziggy Stardust" fame ( left )

Bernie Shaw has a lot of precense on stage and knows perfectly how to play with the audience with typical rock' n roller stage moves.

Mick Box always has a smile on his face and Trevor is focus on his bass parts. Remember he is the guy from the Ziggy Stardust band with Mick Ronson & David Bowie.
Lots of die-hard fans at the sold out Olympia tonight.

WAAOOOWWW !!!

The band is happy and so is the audience.
For more details see setlist below.
Great set
Can Blue Oyster Cult follow after such a good set ?

Hey Guys , the other way 'round

Secret location revealed : MUSE @ Théatre du Chatelet Paris Sept 8th 2009

That's it !
MUSE 's secret show in Paris will take place at the Théatre du chatelet on sept 8th.
info : Zégut

I tried to get more info this afternoon ( sept 5th ), People working there don't know anything about the show.
Could it be somewhere else ?

I went yesterday afternoon to the salle pleyel to see the rehearsals of the Lou reed / Laurie Anderson gig . Well it was interesting to see how this old couple is working their songs but the music seemed soo boring that i didn't bother going there for the gig. The place was packed even though the tickets were rather expensive , up to 70 euros.
