Ronnie James Dio Encimo estate for sale

Ronnie James Dio's estate in Encimo on the market for $3,333,000

Photos by Marco Franchina, courtesy of the official listing with Marko Babineau at Gibson International.

Its residents have included Ron Howard, Tom Petty, Samuel L. Jackson, Dick van Dyke
Heavy metal musician Ronnie James Dio died of stomach cancer in May, and his Encino home has just been put on the market this week for $3.333 million. The home has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, over 5,000 square feet of living space, and was built in the style of an English manor. Usually listings like to boast about how new all the appliances are, but this one highlights antique features: "200 year old wood [floors] from France, pub bar from the Kings Arms in Chiqwell Essex, England c. 1820, & custom stained antique windows from the 18th & 19th centuries." Don't forget the antique cathedral windows in the master bedroom, circa 1790! As is befitting a rock legend, it also comes equipped with a custom music studio.

Band Of Skulls + The Good Ones @ Fleche d'Or, Paris Sept 22 2010

Band of Skulls + The Good Ones @ Fleche d'Or
Paris Sept 22 2010

Nice to be back at the Fleche d'Or. It seems that gigs in this club is getting more expensive for the new season, it used to be 8 euros with a free drink, now ( at least for this concert) it's 10 euros (+ booking fees) and NO drink.
We can't complain we were invited.
The weather has been wonderful for the last few days , today being the hottest and it's almost as hot in there as @ the Bataclan.
I suspect they have switched off the AC to sell more drinks.
Anyway first band on stage are Frenchies Indie rock band The Good Ones, they've done a very decent set. we couldn't hear the guitar that much as we were staying next to the bass player , all we could hear was some good & loud bass.
It seems that The White Stripes are a major influence to many bands these days so they ended their set with a WS' cover.
Nice starter even tough they should work a bit more on some of their songs.
setlist The Good Ones
Then we have Band of Skulls a power trio of heavy blues rock ( à la White Stripes ?).
The place is packed as the Fleche d' Or have sold their last tickets on the door.
I can't remember seeing them before but as they've done a KILLER set, I would have remember them if I had seen them already
The kind of music that here at ROCKERPARIS we LOVE.
Some heavy guitars with lots of distortion, a bit of blues and a sexy side with a cute (female) bass player, too bad she was on the other side of the stage.
They didn't play that long: 65 min for 12 songs. You could tell they've done a very good job by seeing the smile the audience had when they left the hot & sweaty Fleche d'Or.
Don't miss them next time they will be playing in Paris

Here's on for ya :

Farewell Poetry + Glissando @ Oliver Peel Session, Paris Sept 21 2010

Farewell Poetry + Glissando @ Oliver Peel session
Paris Sept 21 2010 8:00PM
Security on duty at the door , you needed to be on the guestlist to get in;Farewell Poetry duet

Unusual Oliver Peel session as we're on tuesday but it didn't prevent people from coming after work as it's SOLD OUT, the appartment is rammed, even in the kitchen (the only room where people can smoke) it's hard to make a move.
The music tonight is also a bit unusual no folk young lady with acoustic guitar & banjo.
First artists on stage are Farewell Poetry, a french duet, a real couple in life. The guy's on guitar & the gal on "vocals" reciting 'poetry'.
Lots of effects & loops for the guitar The kind of music that would be perfect for a soundtrack.
Too bad they seem to be a bunch of arrogant posh twats.

Glissando from England

Then we have english band Glissando from Leeds.
It's not folk it's more ambiance , shoegaze & classical with piano , aerian guitars and violin (played buy a sexy asian brunette).
Very interesting session with a different kind of music. When is Oliver inviting Heavy Metal bands ?
Sorry for the pics as I was stuck in the back of the room luckily foods & drinks were right next to me.
Always a pleasure to come to these famous Oliver Peel sessions, which are getting more and more famous woldwide in the folk circles in UK and California.

Won't mention any names but some people were a bit drunk ( right pic) Guess who ?

The beautiful people @ Oliver's ( not everybody could fit on the Pic)

sorry no videos (yet) for this one.

KORN @ Virgin Megastore, Paris Sept 21 2010 2:00PM

KORN in store signing @ Virgin Megastore
Champs Elysées Paris Sept 21 2010 2:00 PM
It seems that KORN's glory days are behind them as there were not too many people for this in store signing session that went very smoothly.
A few years ago it would have cause a riot.
we didn't stay very long as we had other plans.

It's a Montblanc so it's very expensive from 500 Euros to 20 000 Euros ( Yes 20 000 Euros) for the edition limited to 70 copies with Diamond, Saphir & "or blanc".

Ozzy Osbourne @ Bercy, Paris Sept 20 2010

OZZY OSBOURNE @ Bercy
Paris Sept 20 2010
Nice to see Ozzy back in Paris ...at Last !!
Fucking hell, It's been sooo many years.

Last time OZZY played in Paris was at the tiny Cigale for his "Farewell Tour". He never came back even with Black sabbath.
He cancelled a show in 1995 or 1998 because of poor sales, only 2000 tickets sold for the Zénith (capacity 6500).
tonight it could have been cancelled too, 1) because he hurt his back a few days ago 2) Once again because of poor sales; even with Danko Jones and Korn opening , only 6000 tickets were sold tonight.
There were competitions everywhere ( websites, radios...) to win tix for this one.
As you can see on the Pics Bercy is half empty and the stage is almost halfway through the pit.
Can't talk about Korn we only saw the last 5 min and it sounded like shit.

Great beginning with " Bark at the moon", then it's the new single, the only song from "Scream", Glad there's only one song from the new album , Once again it's a complete crap album.
So we have all the hits .
He's still acting funny on stage, a bit like seeing your grand-father on stage, the voice is Ok.

SETLIST: (click for videos)
Bark at the moon, Let me hear you scream, Mr Crowley, I don't know, Fairies wear boots, Suicide solution,War Pigs, Shot in the dark, Rat Salad( with Guitar & drum solo),Iron man, Killer of Giants, I don't want to change the world,Crazy train Encore 1: MamaI'm coming home, Paranoid Encore 2: Flying high again, Into the Void.
The first rows took many showers for free as he dropped buckets of water all over them, he 's also using a firehose. Good point as I've never seen so many dirty, smelly fat cunts down the front.
Probably one of the reason I always sit down in the stalls at a Heavy metal concert, anyway it's OZZY, I couldn't sit on my ass for the whole gig, I needed to be down the front.
the new guitar player's really good.
The stage (apart from being very low) is kept to a minimum no screens like in the UK maybe it was our punishment for not filling up bercy.
We had a long guitar solo/ Instumental / Drums solo in the middle then Ozzy came back to sing more of his hits including a few ballads.

Compare to the other shows on this tour the set was pretty long ( 1h50 min) and we were treated with an extra Encore after "Paranoid"

Really good show.
